The significance of a watch to a man
A watch is a symbol of lifestyle and status. The invention of the watch stemmed from a very intuitive concept: making large clocks portable so that people could easily tell the time.
Watch culture has a long history, and gradually, watches have taken on a significance for people—especially men—that transcends the timepieces themselves.
From a sartorial perspective, a watch can serve as an embellishment for relatively monotonous men's attire.
Since watches are generally quite expensive to produce, they gradually became regarded as a luxury item. Therefore, a man owning a watch of considerable value serves as a symbol of his status and standing.
However, no matter how expensive a watch is, it remains merely a material symbol (though materiality is a prerequisite and very important). Behind a watch lies a much deeper culture and meaning.
For a man, owning a top-quality watch is symbolic of the responsibility he bears, reminding him of his happy family and reminding him of someone he loves
Also loving your wife, reminding you that you should focus on your career, reminding you that you should possess a generous heart, reminding you of the preciousness of time, endlessly extending your happiness within limited time, reminding you of a sense of responsibility towards others...
A watch records time, ticking away bit by bit every day, yet upon completing each rotation, it returns to the starting point while continuously moving forward. A friend once told me that a watch represents eternity, and when a girl gives you a watch, it is always in the hope that your relationship will last forever.
