Life has no retakes: Watch powerhouses battle again in the European Cup
The intense European Championship matches this summer have finally come to an end. After countless exciting and unforgettable nights of watching, a new European champion has finally been crowned under the spotlight. Have you ever imagined that the watches accompanying you through these summer nights could also form a powerhouse team to compete in the European Championship?

The European passion for watches is no less than their love for football. Imagine a European Championship featuring national watch representatives, with 4 major watchmaking powers (Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy) fielding their elite teams—who would ultimately take home the trophy?

Germany — A. Lange & Söhne, Glashütte Original, NOMOS
As one of the nations most passionate about horology, almost every German owns a watch; there is no other nation that loves wearing watches more than the Germans. Germany is home to world-renowned watch brands such as A. Lange & Söhne and Glashütte Original. German watchmaking is known for its rigour, with brands typically using in-house movements, such as the 3/4 three-quarter plate design rather than a full bridge. With blued steel screws, swan-neck regulators, and gold chatons, these movement finishes are certainly on par with Swiss watches.

Switzerland — Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Rolex, Vacheron Constantin, IWC, Omega
It must be said that as the birthplace of horology, Switzerland boasts countless watch brands and is one of the strongest teams in the field. Much like AC Milan in the football world, it possesses many 'superstars', and any brand chosen could stand on its own. Although watchmaking did not originate in Switzerland, the country combined French techniques with local jewellery craftsmanship to create the Swiss watch industry. To this day,Swiss watchesit remains a favourite among many watch enthusiasts.

Italy — Panerai
Panerai watchUnlike the Italian football team, where every player is incredibly handsome, the beauty of Panerai watches is not something everyone can appreciate at first glance. The development of Panerai is unique; much like its distinctive exterior design, its outstanding performance and bold, oversized dials have allowed it to carve out a path of its own. Panerai naturally has its own merits. In the evolution of watches, Italy has forged a unique path of horological aesthetics.

France — Cartier
When speaking of France, words like romance, jewellery, and Paris inevitably come to mind. When mentioning jewellery, one naturally thinks of Cartier. Cartier is not only a jewellery tycoon but also a watchmaker. The watches it designs and produces are diverse and highly favoured by fashion enthusiasts, such asCartier Ballon Bleuthe Tank, and it seems no lady can resist this combination of jewellery and horology.
