How to use and maintain gold-plated bracelets
If gold-plated bracelets are used without proper care, the plating will quickly fade, and in some cases even discolour entirely, looking very unsightly.
Domestic gold-plated bracelets typically have a plating layer of only 0.0003 millimetres. So, how can this thin gold plating be protected?
1. In summer, corrosive sweat and dirt should be wiped away promptly. When sweating heavily, it is best to take the watch off or avoid wearing a gold-plated bracelet.
2. The bracelet should be prevented from rubbing against rough and sharp objects, and should also be protected from heavy pressure and rain.
3. If the gold plating on the bracelet wears off, it should be re-plated.
