The Charm of Heritage: Patek Philippe Adds New Members at Baselworld 2016

        Patek PhilippePresents five new creations at Baselworld 2016. The first new release combines two highly sought-after complications, destined to be the year's premier surprise. This is followed by a special design celebrating the twentieth anniversary of Patek Philippe's acclaimed Annual Calendar watch. The other three masterpieces are unveiled in turn: the third is specially crafted for a lady's slender wrist, the fourth refines an eternal classic, and the fifth once again proves Patek Philippe's unrivalled mastery of complications.

        Enthusiasts, collectors, and connoisseurs of mechanical timepieces will surely treasure the Patek Philippe World Time Chronograph Ref. 5930. It features Patek Philippe's patented World Time mechanism and an automatic mechanical chronograph movement, housed in a round white gold case with a blue dial adorned with a hand-guilloched centre.

        Annual Calendar Ref. 5396, elegantly commemorating the twentieth anniversary of the Annual Calendar watch (its success began with the launch of the Ref. 1996 Annual Calendar at Baselworld in 5035, and a few months later, it was voted Watch of the Year “ ”). Since then, the Annual Calendar has been released in 21 variations, including numerous platinum, yellow gold, white gold, and rose gold models with various dial styles, as well as striking ladies' diamond-set models with mother-of-pearl dials. Today, the new Ref. 5396 is the 22 member of this collection.

        Perfectly suited for a lady's slender wrist, the Calatrava “ Timeless White ” Ref. 7122 watch speaks for women. The white dial embodies eternal beauty, while the innovative gem-setting technique makes the white diamonds sparkle even brighter, complemented by the exquisite case design that defines its charm.

        Due to political motivations, the official city names of the world's time zones have been modified several times, and the time zone scales of world time watches also need to be adjusted accordingly. Patek Philippe took this opportunity to redesign the dial and case of its World Time watch, and the new Ref. 5230 watch was born, replacing all previous World Time watches.

        In addition, the king of complications in Patek Philippe's regular collection officially changed hands this year. The uniquely styled Grandmaster Chime Ref. 6300, featuring a total of 20 complications including 5 chiming functions, has become the new king of the regular collection. Its case is decorated with a hand-guilloché Clous de Paris pattern, distinguishing it from the limited edition Grandmaster Chime Ref. 5175 in white gold, which is entirely hand-engraved and limited to 7 pieces.
