How to choose a men's watch
Women love handbags, men love watches. This has long been a habit. A wristwatch holds special significance for men, and a watch that matches one's style can enhance overall poise and taste. So how should men choose a watch?

The value of a watch is mainly reflected in its brand, followed by its exterior components. Setting aside the exterior appearance, watches of similar grades and styles do not differ significantly in movement quality and characteristics—for instance, LONGINES and OMEGA—yet their prices vary greatly. Therefore, to find a watch with high cost-performance, you do not necessarily have to choose a familiar luxury name.
Some people are unsuited to wearing automatic watches. Anyone with insufficient daily physical activity, elderly individuals, the frail and sickly, and those with sedentary jobs are best advised not to wear automatic watches. Whenever a person's physical activity is insufficient, the mainspring will not be fully wound, causing the watch to stop frequently, run for insufficient durations, or run while worn but stop when taken off, while timekeeping errors also increase. Therefore, for those with insufficient physical activity, it is recommended to choose quartz watches or manually wound mechanical watches.
Individuals who sweat easily, are active in sports, work outdoors, or frequently come into contact with chemical acids and alkalis (such as medical workers) should wear watches with stainless steel cases. Chemicals containing mercury (reagents) cause extreme damage to yellow gold and gold plating, causing the gold to discolour. The crown, case, and inner side of the bracelet on copper-plated watches are easily corroded by sweat, causing the plating to peel off, so these are best avoided.
The pins between the bracelet links and the clasp are the parts most prone to issues during wear and should be inspected carefully when purchasing a watch. Some clasps are prone to problems after prolonged opening and closing, such as butterfly clasps, whilst ceramic bracelets are prone to shattering; these factors should also be taken into consideration before purchase.
