Jaeger-LeCoultre interprets a classic: The Geophysic collection
For a long time,Jaeger-LeCoultrerenowned for its exquisite watchmaking expertise and relentless spirit of innovation. Today, Jaeger-LeCoultre reinterprets classic design with innovative technology, sharing its achievements with the world through the special presentation of the new Geophysic® watch collection. The clean and crisp exterior design houses a new high watchmaking mechanical movement crafted using the innovative technology of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture, offering wearers a revival of classic heritage powered by new mechanical dynamics.
At a single glance, one can appreciate the harmonious and balanced minimalist charm of the Geophysic® watch collection. Each piece in this collection is deeply profound, inviting the wearer to explore the new world it embodies. A closer look and feel reveals how a wealth of innovation infuses the classic design with a modern touch, exuding a masculine elegance that blends strength with gentleness.
The collection is named as a tribute to a classic: a timepiece of extraordinary historical significance to both the Manufacture and the world. During the 1958 International Geophysical Year, Jaeger-LeCoultre crafted a high-performance observatory watch for intrepid scientists that remained accurate despite the magnetic fields of the North Pole.
Today, the Manufacture presents two user-friendly 21th-century models that combine modern aesthetics with supreme precision craftsmanship──the Geophysic® True Second® watch and the Geophysic® Universal Time watch, bringing the classic aura of the legendary timepieces of the past back to life for the world to see.

Geophysic® Universal Time watch (stainless steel model)
Exquisite design paying tribute to classic style
Every detail and design of this watch collection is considered not only for its appearance but also to enhance practical performance. The case diameter of the Geophysic® True Second® watch is 39.6 mm, presenting a harmonious and minimalist visual appeal while offering the wearer an exceptional wearing experience, inheriting the cultural traditions of Jaeger-LeCoultre fine watchmaking.

The Geophysic ® True Second collection uses classic hands and linear hour markers, interpreting modern aesthetics while inheriting the brand's historical characteristics. The case recreates the high-watchmaking style of Jaeger-LeCoultre, highlighting the watch's own personality — — The lugs do not connect to the case with a smooth curve, conveying a bold and confident attitude. The sides of the lugs are polished to accentuate the fluid contours. The bezel is cleverly superimposed with the details of the case and lugs, which also makes the overall aesthetic of the watch more fluid and magnificent. Like the original model released in 1958, the Geophysic ® True Second collection uses a screw-down case back to enhance water resistance. This design, originally intended for diving watches, results in smoother lines and outlines a perfect overall appearance. Just like the original model, the middle of the case is adorned with Super-Luminova ®* fluorescent dots, allowing for clear reading in the dark and adding a dynamic beauty. Every detail of the watch reveals a style of exquisite harmony and understated simplicity. While the wearer enjoys a wonderful appreciation experience, they also naturally exude the excellent demeanour that is one with the watch.
New mechanical movement, unlocking precision in time and space
Geophysic® The Geophysic collection is powered by Jaeger-LeCoultre 770 and 772 automatic mechanical movements, which are precise, reliable, and imbued with infinite mechanical beauty. These two mechanical movements were developed by the most senior watchmakers in the Manufacture's research department, whose professional knowledge and rich imagination drive them to innovate constantly.

The infinite creativity of the watchmakers is fully revealed in the Geophysic ® True Second collection. After years of research, Jaeger-LeCoultre's master watchmakers developed a balance wheel called the Gyrolab ®, whose unique non-circular structure reduces air resistance. A laboratory version of this device was successfully developed as early as 2007 and was equipped in the Master Compressor Extreme LAB 1 watch; eight years later, this confidential version was finally adapted and applied to the entire collection. The Gyrolab ® brings a major breakthrough to the precision of the watch, and the Geophysic ® True Second collection is the first watch collection to adopt this technology.

Watches in this collection are equipped with a “true seconds” function, where the second hand beats rhythmically across the dial, witnessing the passage of every second. This is far from standard for a mechanical movement; such a feature requires an incredibly complex construction while ensuring smooth operation. Watching the second hand jump across the dial with a crisp rhythm allows one to truly appreciate the charm of time as it flows. Jaeger-LeCoultre mastered this technology as early as the 19 century, and today it stands as a testament to the essence of the Geophysic ® collection.

Excellent mechanical performance must be paired with ultimate aesthetics. At first glance, the characteristic movement features of the Manufacture are captivating. Upon closer inspection, the volume of the movement and the exquisite proportions of the bridges are stunning and unforgettable. Furthermore, the movement is meticulously decorated by master watchmakers with “ Côtes de Genève ” (Côtes de Genève) patterns. As light falls on the movement, it reflects a soft radiance, demonstrating the time, energy, and patience the master watchmakers have poured into decorating this collection.

Geophysic® The design of the oscillating weight in the Geophysic collection's movement is particularly ingenious. The weight is crafted from a single piece of solid gold, with the iconic Jaeger-LeCoultre anchor logo skeletonised into it, echoing the shape of the movement's anchor. Compared to traditional oscillating weights, admirers can appreciate the beauty of the movement as the weight swings.

These two mechanical movements embody the charm of Jaeger-LeCoultre's excellent watchmaking technology, much like high-performance car engines. In addition, this watch has passed the “ 1000-hour test ” (1000 Hours Control) certification —— Jaeger-LeCoultre is the only watchmaker to adopt this rigorous certification standard. Although the mechanical construction is complex, it is very easy to operate, with adjustments made by placing the crown in different positions. With this, Jaeger-LeCoultre has successfully interpreted the prototype model into a masterpiece of modern watchmaking.
Geophysic ® True Second ® Simplicity and perfection, superior performance

Geophysic® True Second ® exudes a unique, timeless, and classic style.

The watch's exquisite grained dial is not only textured but also makes reading the time clear and easy, with the design of the hands and hour markers being simple and distinct. The Geophysic ® True Second ® is available in stainless steel and rose gold models, which are easy to adjust and have a dynamic look. When the crown is in the normal position, it can wind the movement; in position 1, it allows the wearer to independently and quickly adjust the hour and date according to their city; and in position 2, it allows for the adjustment of hours and minutes. In every respect, this watch is a wise choice for the traveller.

Geophysic ® Universal Time Master time and space, the world opens on your wrist

Geophysic® Universal Time is equipped with the Jaeger-LeCoultre 772 movement, and the world map on the watch exudes stunning charm. The distant lands on the map seem near, like an invitation to embark on a journey. This watch uses blue lacquer in different shades for the oceans, and the engraved continents are adorned with a magnificent sunray finish. The map pattern on the dial is fixed, making it easy to set the hour markers, and the time is clear at a glance. The watch bezel features a rotating time zone display ring, allowing the wearer to easily keep track of the time in 24 different time zones simultaneously.

The corresponding city names on the city disk are clear and easy to read, and the fixed design makes it convenient for the wearer to determine orientation. In an instant, the wearer becomes familiar with its layout: 6 o'clock in London corresponds to 2 o'clock in Hong Kong. To simplify operation, the time is adjusted via the crown rather than push-pieces. Once the world time function is set, there are no worries even when travelling around the globe. When travelling, the wearer simply adjusts the hour hand forwards or backwards to set the local time. This adjustment is completely independent of the minute and seconds hands to ensure precise timekeeping.

The Geophysic® Universal Time world time watch is ingenious and practical, featuring a case diameter of 41.6 mm, available in stainless steel and rose gold versions.

Whether in the true second or world time models, the Geophysic® watch collection innovates upon classic traditions, allowing watch enthusiasts to sense fresh perspectives within heritage and ponder over the passage of time. Jaeger-LeCoultre aims to shape a spirit of the era, conveying the belief that simplicity and complexity can coexist in harmony.
