       Cartier challenges watch design, continuing the spirit of “Mechanical Legends” with the launch of the Crash skeleton watch in rose gold, giving one of Cartier's most iconic timepieces a brand-new look.

      This Crash watch is equipped with the 9618 MC movement, where the case and movement are integrated to present a natural, classic asymmetrical shape. The iconic Roman numeral decoration is striking, and the skeletonised movement fits perfectly with the distorted case. The Crash skeleton watch is also equipped with a transparent case back, allowing the intricate mechanism of the 9618 MC manual-winding mechanical movement to be seen at a glance. The main plate is skeletonised, and the movement is finished with chamfering, frosting, and mirror polishing throughout. Beyond its ingenious aesthetics and exquisite craftsmanship, the charm of this timepiece also stems from its extraordinary shape. The Crash collection was born in 1967 in London, embodying the eclectic “Swinging London” spirit.

      Where did the Crash come from? How was it born? In 1967, a customer entrusted Cartier London with the repair of a Cartier watch damaged in an accident. The head of the London company at the time was inspired by the deformed case and decided to apply its distorted shape to a new design.

      This classic collection has always been a source of inspiration for Cartier Fine Watchmaking. Cartier first launched the platinum version, and now it has gorgeously unveiled the rose gold version.
