How to adjust the time on a DW watch?
Daniel Wellington (referred to as DW) is a globally renowned watch brand. Its stylish and minimalist characteristics have also sparked a craze among fashion enthusiasts worldwide, earning it the title of 'the world's hottest fashion watch' in the fashion circle. So, how do you adjust the time on a DW watch?
How to set the time on a DW watch? Setting the time on a DW watch is similar to most watches.
Mechanical watch
The crown in the centre is a screw-down type, designed for water resistance. To adjust the time, unscrew it anti-clockwise, just like opening a bottle cap.
Once unscrewed, position 0 allows you to wind the watch manually by turning it upwards. (For a new watch or one that has not been worn for a long time, please manually wind it 30 turns to ensure it has enough energy; this is not necessary for daily use).
Pull the crown out slightly to position 1. Turn it upwards to adjust the day of the week, and downwards to adjust the date.
Pull the crown out one more time to position 2 to adjust the time.
Quartz watches
For watches without a date display, pull out the crown when the second hand reaches the 12 o'clock position and rotate it clockwise to adjust the time. If there is no second hand, for the sake of accuracy, you can set the minute hand two minutes ahead of the desired time, then push the crown back in once the time is set.
For watches with a date display, pull the crown out slightly to adjust the day by rotating it clockwise and the date by rotating it counter-clockwise. Pull the crown out to the furthest position to adjust the time; the operation is the same as for watches without a date display.
For watches with complex functions, please contact the retailer directly.
Points to note
Please note before adjusting the time: If your watch has a screw-down crown, do not pull it out by force. First, rotate the crown anti-clockwise to unlock it. After adjusting the time, turn the crown clockwise while pushing it back in to lock it, preventing water from entering (many customers have reported that they cannot turn the crown or adjust the time on their received watches; please read this information carefully).
Secondly, note that the danger zone for mechanical movements is between 21:00 and 4:00. Adjusting the day and date during this period is not advisable, as it may damage the movement.
Please do not adjust the time anticlockwise between 21:00-3:00, because during this time period the day and date wheels are changing over, and prolonged reverse adjustment will damage internal components. At other times, you can freely adjust clockwise or anticlockwise.
