A Rolex Classic: The Endless Charm of the Black Submariner

DEEPSEA116660 is equipped withRolexRolex's in-house 3135 automatic mechanical movement. 3135 was launched in 1988 and remains a flagship Rolex movement to this day (also used in the Green Submariner). The only minor drawback is that it requires at least 8 hours of wear to fully charge, but wearing it for a day at work is generally sufficient, so it has no impact.

　　3135 is equivalent to the LV2.0 of 3035, with minimal changes: the single-point bridge balance cock has been replaced with a double-point version, which is more beneficial for the stable operation of the rotor.

　　The patented (EP2596141) Parachrom blue hairspring, made from a specific ratio of iron, cobalt, nickel, niobium, and vanadium, offers approximately 10 times greater shock and magnetic resistance than previous versions. Manufacturing precision has also increased, ensuring the movement's exceptional accuracy. The red gears are coated using TEFLON technology, which provides anti-corrosion properties while reducing friction during operation and minimising wear.

　　Appearance/Materials

　　The DEEPSEA is a branch of the Submariner family. Although it lacks the "cyclops" lens of the Submariner, the scale on the unidirectional rotating bezel is significantly larger, the case is thicker, and it offers greater water resistance.
