Introduction:RolexHas always been a monarch in the watch world, with its well-known crown logo symbolizing the regal authority of watchmaking. Today, we introduceRolexits historical background and brand classification.

  Historical background:

Hans Wilsdorf was born in 1881 in a city in Bavaria. In 1905, he partnered with an Englishman named Davis in London to establish 'Wilsdorf & Davis', beginning their watch trade. On 2 7 1908, Wilsdorf registered theRolex(rolex) trademark in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. From then on, the global watchmaking industry gained another luxury brand, witnessing one landmark innovation after another.

In 1914,Rolexa small wristwatch received a Class A certificate from the Kew Observatory in Britain, representing the highest level of recognition for timekeeping precision from an authoritative observatory. This honour greatly enhanced the value of Rolex, and for decades following, Rolex became synonymous with 'precision'.

In 1926, after the end of the First World War, Rolex launched the world's first water-resistant and dustproof watch, the famous Rolex 'Oyster'. In 1927, a British female swimmer wore this water-resistant watch while swimming across the English Channel. After being submerged in water for a full 15 hours, that Rolex watch remained accurate and ran as normal. At the time, this event was hailed by British media as 'the greatest triumph in watchmaking technique'. Rolex thereby established its leading position in watch water-resistance technology.

In 1931,Rolexcreated the hugely popular 'Perpetual' watch, sparking a revolution in the watch industry. The central axis of this automatic watch featured an oscillating weight that converted subtle wrist movements into power for the watch, eliminating the need for manual winding. This was widely recognised at the time as the most precise and reliable automatic winding technology for wristwatches. In 1945, Rolex launched the world's first watch to automatically change the date, and in 1956, introduced a calendar watch with a day-of-the-week display available in 26 languages.

  RolexBrand categories and introduction:

  1. Explorer II (EXPLORER II), fitted with a 24-hour red auxiliary hand to help adventurers distinguish day from night.

  2. Submariner (SUBMARINER), featuring a water resistance rating exceeding 300 metres.

3, the Yacht-Master, features a rotatable bezel to easily calculate time differences.

4, the GMT-Master II. Its rotatable bezel and 24-hour hand not only display two time zones simultaneously, but also allow the hour hand to be adjusted independently to another time zone without moving the minute or second hands.

5, the Cosmograph, is a multi-functional watch designed to meet engineering, sports, and commercial needs.

Rolex's original logo was an open palm with five fingers, signifying that its products were entirely handcrafted. This later evolved into the now-famous crown, showcasing Rolex's imperial standing in the watchmaking industry. On the international market, standard Rolex watches range in price from 1000 USD to 15000 USD. Despite the steep price, people still consider them good value for money. This is not only due to Rolex's exceptional quality, but also because of its unique investment value. Rolex vintage watches exhibit extremely strong value retention. In 2002, at an auction held in Geneva, a gold Rolex perpetual calendar watch from 1952, once worn by Vietnam's last emperor, Bao Dai, sold for a staggering 34.2 hundred thousand Swiss francs (approximately 23.54 USD at the time).

During the mechanical watch era of the last century, Rolex was consistently a global leader in the watch industry. To this day, supreme craftsmanship and technology continue to maintain Rolex's prominent position in watchmaking. Currently, Rolex has branch offices in more than 20 major cities worldwide, with an annual output of approximately 80 ten thousand pieces, firmly securing its sales leadership in the Swiss watch industry.
