As one of the representatives of Swiss luxury watchmaking, wearing a Rolex watch when heading out truly exudes immense prestige. But do you know why wearingRolex watchescarries such high status? Today, let us spend 1 minutes exploring and appreciating the high prestige of the Rolex brand.

RolexHow did this name come about?

The founder of Rolex was an English gentleman, Hans Wilsdorf. In 1905, at the age of just 24, he established a company in London specialising in the distribution of timepieces.

Hans Wilsdorf recounted: "I tried combining letters in every possible way, eventually arriving at hundreds of names, but not a single one satisfied me. One morning, while sitting on the upper deck of a horse-drawn omnibus travelling along Cheapside in the City of London, I felt as though a sprite whispered the name 'Rolex' in my ear."—Thus, a name pronounceable in any language gave birth to Rolex.

Why are Rolex watches so prestigious?

  1. They are a symbol of precision timekeeping

In 1914, Rolex became the first to be awarded an 'A' grade certificate by the Kew Observatory in Britain. At the time, this rating was generally only given to marine chronometers.

  2. They are also the pioneer of waterproof watches

In 1926, Rolex created the first waterproof and dustproof wristwatch. To prove its technology, a young British woman, Mercedes Gleitze, successfully swam across the English Channel wearing a Rolex Oyster. After swimming for over ten hours to reach the finish line, her watch remained completely undamaged and running normally; this timepiece was called the 'Oyster'.

  3. Furthermore, they are the forefather of calendar watches

In 1945, Rolex introduced the Datejust, the world's first self-winding wristwatch with a date display on the dial. The Datejust was originally designed specifically for men, and a decade later, a rich and colourful range of ladies' models gradually evolved.

Beyond that, Rolex watches can scale Mount Everest and plunge into the deep sea!

In 1953, Sir John Hunt, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay each wore a Rolex Oyster Perpetual to successfully reach the summit of Mount Everest for the very first time. Rolex accompanied two explorers to conquer the deepest part of the Mariana Trench as early as 1960, and in 2012 Rolex once again broke the solo deep-diving record alongside filmmaker and National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence James Cameron.

Rolex watch prices can be very accessible, or so high you could not afford them even if you sold an organ~

A more affordable Rolex Air-King can be reserved for 3000 US dollars. However, more expensive Rolex watches can easily cost upwards of a million, so rather than selling an organ, you might not even be able to afford one if you sold yourself.

Conclusion:Having read this, do you feel like saving up for a Rolex watch? If you do not want to sell an organ to buy a Rolex, trust me, buying a Rolex replica watch can equally give you plenty of prestige.
