My watch broke while it was just sitting there; what is the reason?
When I first started liking watches, I thought that once I paid for one, I could just forget about it. However, after learning the hard way a few times, I slowly realised that I had neglected the proper methods for storing and maintaining watches.
The storage of watches, especially mechanical ones, is a problem I believe every watch enthusiast has encountered. Since it is impossible to own only one watch, and having two or three mechanical watches is common, there will inevitably be periods when you cannot wear them all. Your watch may suffer from being “neglected”, and when you decide to wear it again, it might have a bit of a “temper”, failing to run or showing various other issues.

Sometimes, when you casually place a watch in a drawer, have you ever thought that just by placing it there, it could be scratched by hard objects in the drawer? I have aHigh-quality replica Omega watchesand the strap and clasp scratched the back of the watch badly. Even though I had only worn it a few times and was very careful, it ended up looking only seventy percent new when stored.
Out of necessity, I started searching for relevant knowledge online and asking fellow enthusiasts. Only then did I learn that if you are not wearing a watch, you should wrap it in a watch pouch or support it with a watch cushion and place it in a watch box to ensure its appearance does not suffer from wear and tear.

If you are a meticulous person, and if you own more than 5Replica watchesyou might consider purchasing a large watch box or cabinet that can hold multiple watches. Modern watch cabinets are becoming high-tech, featuring automatic rotators, humidity control, and some even come with monitoring devices. The design of watch cabinets is truly diverse, including jewellery boxes that can also hold cufflinks. They can be expensive, but I bought a large watch cabinet specifically for my watches, which was a one-time investment.
There is also a small tip: when using an automatic watch winder, owners usually face a choice (in fact, you encounter the same issue when storing watches in traditional containers): should you let the watch run normally, or let it stop?
Generally, you should choose to keep it running. Because in a world invisible to the naked eye, movement parts rely on lubricating oil for protection. However, this oil is not infallible; just like the oil in a car engine, it will slowly decompose and settle. If a watch does not run for a long time, the settled oil will have a negative impact on the watch's operation. Some fine watches are literally ruined by being left idle.
Of course, some other friends have their own logic: since running the watch causes wear and tear on the parts, why give the watch a chance to wear out if you are not wearing it?
Therefore, the most scientific method is to wind the watch every three to five days and let it run for a few minutes. This method applies to both automatic and manual-winding watches. As for keeping it dry and away from strong light, there is no need to repeat that.
