Self-rescue methods for a watch after water ingress
Regardless of the type of watch, long-term wear without considering the effects of high and low temperatures can lead to water ingress. For those who have finally purchased a suitablereplica Jaeger-LeCoultre watches, what should you do if it gets water inside due to improper wearing habits? Follow our guide to learn how to perform self-rescue for your watch.

First, you need to understand the extent of the water ingress. There are several scenarios; a common one is fog appearing inside the watch crystal, which often happens when there is a large temperature difference. In other cases, condensation may appear inside the glass. If there are large water droplets on the dial and crystal, you should take the watch to a professional repair shop immediately. You also need to be aware of the nature of the liquid; for those who drink, the possibility of alcohol entering the watch increases during social occasions. If alcohol has entered, never place the watch under a 40W bulb to dry, as this can cause serious damage.
Mechanical watch repairs are usually required due to distilled water ingress. After water enters, the watch should be sent to a repair shop for drying as soon as possible. If only a small amount of moisture has entered, it may not be necessary to send it to a shop. In this case, place the watch on absorbent paper and position it near a 40W bulb at a distance of approximately 15CM. Bake it for 30 minutes to ensure all moisture evaporates and the vapour inside the watch dissipates.
