How to Replace a Luxury Watch Battery?
The battery life is generally 1 to 2 years, and batteries should be replaced regularly. So how should you replace the battery in a luxury watch? Let us learn how below.

How to Replace a Luxury Watch Battery
1. Use bamboo or plastic tweezers to remove the battery. Remember to wear gloves when removing the battery to prevent static electricity from your hands, which could cause a battery short circuit.
2. Position the battery correctly. The cell must be placed the right way up; when removing the watch battery, note that the negative terminal must face the correct direction.
3. Clean the battery. Before installing a new battery, check the positive and negative contacts connected to the battery for any dirt. If there is any dirt on the battery, it can be wiped clean with alcohol or petrol.
4. Pay attention to the orientation when installing the battery. When fitting the battery, mind the positive and negative directions and do not install them in reverse.
Luxury Watch Care Methods
When taking off your watch at night, be sure to place it horizontally. Watches should not be placed near any heat sources for long periods, and prolonged exposure to strong sunlight and humid environments should be avoided.
For any watches with additional functions such as motorised hand adjustment, alarms, illumination, altitude, temperature, or compasses, use should be minimised as much as possible. This is especially true for alarm and illumination functions, which consume thousands of times more power than normal watch operation.
Luxury Watch Care Precautions
Shock resistance: A watch is a very precise instrument, and a tiny space of no more than a few centimetres can contain hundreds of parts. Damage, loosening, or displacement of any of these components can cause inaccurate timekeeping or even stoppage. The impact on the appearance is the detachment of five elements: markers, hands, pins, gems, and the crystal.
Magnetic resistance: Avoid approaching magnetic fields, such as placing the watch near electrical appliances that generate magnetic fields (like speakers, refrigerators, computers, etc.) or magnetic objects (like magnets, mobile phones). In addition, women's handbag snap buttons and men's mobile phone case magnetic closures may magnetise the watch, causing inaccurate timekeeping or temporary stoppage.
Water resistance: Generally, watches have water-resistant functions, but if used improperly, the watch glass easily develops water vapour, becoming hazy and unclear. In cases of severe water ingress, moisture seeps into the movement, which easily rusts and damages the movement, shortening the watch's lifespan. Therefore, experts suggest that when water enters a watch, you should not merely take the simplest approach of air-drying it; you should also have the watch cleaned, lubricated, and serviced to protect the movement from damage.
After a period of time, we will find that the originally smooth and bright appearance of "scratch-resistant" watches has become completely unrecognisable, with various scratches covering the crystal, bezel, and strap. These watches, which once made us shine, have now lost their lustre and can only be left forgotten in a dark corner of a drawer. Therefore, we must raise our awareness of "scratch prevention".
