How to use a mechanical watch?
Many watch enthusiasts mention that attention should be paid to usage habits during the initial period of owning a mechanical watch, as mechanical watches have a running-in period, which is very important. So how should we use a mechanical watch correctly?

How to correctly use a mechanical watch
Many people assume that a new watch runs a little fast and that after wearing it for a while and passing the running-in period, it will become increasingly accurate. In reality, this is also a misconception. A watch is not a car; it is a precision machine, and no burrs are permitted on any of its components, meaning no running-in is required at all. The reason a new watch appears to become more accurate after being worn for a period is simply that the wearer has formed wearing habits, objectively creating a relatively stable wearing environment where timekeeping errors across different wearing positions cancel each other out, giving the impression of increasing accuracy.
Precautions for using a mechanical watch
a. Regularly use a soft cloth or silk to gently wipe away dirt and sweat stains from the case.
b. Manual-winding mechanical watches should be wound at a fixed time, preferably fully wound in one go. When winding, turn the crown at an appropriate speed and do not wind it too tightly. If it is too tight, the mainspring can easily become stuck by the oil in the barrel. When the mainspring relaxes, it can easily break due to excessive tension.
c. Watches are most sensitive to violent vibrations; it is best to remove the watch when playing ball sports or hitting things with your hands.
d. Watches are also susceptible to water damage. Therefore, it is best to remove your watch when washing clothes, washing hands, or doing other work that involves contact with water. If condensation or water droplets appear under the watch crystal, it should be serviced promptly to wipe away the moisture and dry the movement. However, if there is only a small amount of condensation, it will disappear on its own once the weather dries up.
e. Please do not bring the watch close to magnetic objects such as radios and televisions, so as not to affect accuracy.
Tips for adjusting time and maintenance
1. Please use and adjust the watch correctly. Before using an automatic mechanical watch for the first time, it must be wound manually, but remember not to overwind it so as to avoid damaging the movement and jamming the mechanism. Take care to gently pull and push the crown when adjusting, without using excessive force. Once adjusted, ensure the crown is pushed fully back in to prevent water resistance failure caused by an unsealed crown!
2. All mechanical watches have a bedding-in period. During this period, a daily rate variation of plus or minus one minute within 24 hours is considered normal. Once the bedding-in period has passed and the watch enters a stable phase, a secondary adjustment can be made! The bedding-in period is generally set at three months!
3. For multi-functional models, take care not to press the chronograph pushers arbitrarily, and remember not to press them in rapid succession! The chronograph function should not be used when the mainspring is fully wound. The sapphire crystal must not rub against diamonds or other glass surfaces!
4. Time-setting method for calendar watches:
A. First, pull the crown out to the time-setting position and rotate it clockwise until the date changes; this indicates it is 24 AM. If adjusting before 12 PM, rotate the hour and minute hands clockwise to the desired time; if adjusting after 12 PM, rotate the hour and minute hands anti-clockwise to the desired time.
B. Use the quick-set corrector button to adjust the date and day display to the required date and day of the week.
C. The day wheel changeover is permitted to complete within 4 hours after the date changes.
