How do you wind a Tianwang mechanical watch?
Tianwang Electronics Co., Ltd. is a well-known domestic watch manufacturer primarily engaged in the research, design, production, and sale of 'Tianwang' brand watches. So, how do you wind a Tianwang mechanical watch? Let's take a look below.
The working principle of a mechanical watch mainspring is as follows: as the mainspring is tightened, the torque increases, which inevitably increases the amplitude of the balance wheel. When the mainspring is fully wound and reaches maximum torque, the watch begins to run. If the balance wheel amplitude still does not reach the required level, you should consider whether the output torque of the mainspring is sufficient. Excessive output torque can cause 'knocking' (banking). If the mainspring experiences significant fluctuations, the time taken for one oscillation of the regulating mechanism will change, causing the watch to run fast or slow; this is related to uneven output torque during mainspring operation.
How long should you wind the mainspring? Generally, if a watch is worn for more than 8 hours after its first winding, it will have a power reserve of no less than 36 hours. If worn regularly for 8 hours a day, the mechanical watch will receive sufficient energy, meaning it will not need constant manual winding. When a mechanical watch stops, it is time to wind it if you wish to wear it. To prevent the watch from 'striking', it must be worn daily.
How do you wind a Tianwang mechanical watch? Currently, watch mainsprings use a leaf-style outer hook, which allows for flexible radial movement during operation. This ensures that the coils of the mainspring remain largely concentric when tightened or released, reducing friction between coils. In automatic watches, once the mainspring is fully wound, the automatic winding mechanism continues to function. To prevent the mainspring from overloading, breaking, or damaging other parts of the automatic mechanism, the outer end of the mainspring features a long, hook-like secondary spring, which is spot-welded to the mainspring. You should always wind the watch in a clockwise direction.
