How to spot a replica Cartier watch?
There are also a vast number of Cartier replicas, so how can one spot a replica Cartier watch? Below, I will show you methods for identifying Cartier watches.

Cartier authentication methods
I. Price
Cartier offers a vast selection of models, ranging in price from just over ten thousand to millions. You can check the official retail price before purchasing. If you find Cartier watches priced at only a few thousand or even a few hundred online, do not believe they are genuine; they are unquestionably counterfeits, namely replica watches.
II. Exterior
Case: Cartier watches, particularly solid gold models, feature numerous hallmarks on the case, such as the scales motif, 18K or 750 marks, Saint-Bernard dog head, or the "Goddess of Liberty" female head hallmark. These stamps are extremely small and crisp on genuine pieces, whereas replica watches often render them coarse and blurred.
Hands: Cartier watches are typically characterised by their use of "blued steel" hands. Counterfeit hands often appear pale blue, whereas genuine hands are a deep blue. The original plating on Cartier hands is exceptionally bright and smooth, with regular and slender proportions (especially the seconds hand). The luminous material on the hands matches the colour of the dial.
Dial: Dial lettering (including minute tracks and alphabetic text) is crisp, jet black, and raised, whereas replica versions fail in this regard, often appearing blurred, dull, and flat. A characteristic of Cartier dials is the tiny slanted "CARTRIER" lettering printed near the 7 o'clock or 10 o'clock position, which is the ultimate test of printing quality.
Case back: An easier check is the Cartier watch case back, which features engraved text including the brand, case details, case material, reference number, and serial number. Engravings on genuine watches are extremely sharp, deep, with finer strokes and smaller lettering; replica engravings tend to have thick strokes, inconsistent depth, poor layout, and blurred markings.
Strap: Next, you need to examine the strap, including the pins on the deployant clasp and the surface finish of the clasp, both of which are poorly executed on counterfeit pieces. For instance, protruding pins look rough, unrounded, and show machining marks; the clasp's surface finish lacks brilliance, with irregular shapes and chamfering; additionally, burrs can be found around the screw holes. These issues are typical characteristics of replica Cartier watches.
Serial number: The serial number on a genuine watch is engraved, appearing deep and very clear. If engraved on the case back, it follows the curve of the case back arc, meaning the digits are also arranged in an arc shape, whereas replica watches generally feature horizontal, straight lines. Currently produced Cartier watches have their serial numbers engraved on the back of one of the lugs, with the numbers etched extremely small and densely—a technique that replica watches cannot yet imitate. Replica serial numbers are basically identical across pieces, regardless of whether they are men's or women's watches, or what the model is.
