I turn the days of waiting into a watch worn on my wrist
Through my friend's incoherent rambling, I only just learned that there is such a thing as return gifts for White Day a couple of days ago. That is to say, on Valentine's Day on 2 month 14 day, when you send a gift to confess your feelings to the one you love, if they happen to fancy you back, then naturally by 3 month 14 they will also return the gesture and confess their feelings to you.

As for my friend, he waited in agony the entire day on White Day the day before yesterday, but no return gift ever arrived from his goddess. According to him, this romance is completely over. Therefore, he was heartbroken all evening and called to pour his heart out to me before dawn this morning. I comforted him by asking whether it could be that his goddess has low emotional intelligence and is as illiterate as me, suggesting he wait a couple more days to see. To this, my friend remained noncommittal, trapped in a state of helpless waiting.
In truth, in matters of the heart, waiting is a deeply meaningful yet helpless and exhausting endeavour. Amidst the gentle passage of time, it is slow and silent like a pause in music, leaving one feeling helpless. Even when you know the rules of romance inside out, that special someone remains nowhere to be seen. Just as the saying goes: “I have travelled through many sceneries, yet none of them are yours.”
When it comes to waiting, I believe the best approach is to turn the days before she arrives into the finest of times, transforming them into a wristwatch to be worn on the wrist.
