Humanity's capacity to pursue dreams is endless; no matter how imaginative they may seem,Omega always draws endless inspiration from these dreams. Today, Master Co-Axial watches once again demonstrate the power of dreams through breakthrough technology, innovative materials, and exceptional aesthetics. At this year's Baselworld, OMEGA equipped the Seamaster collection with Master Co-Axial movements, diving together into the boundless deep sea. Now, let us explore the charm of the OMEGA Seamaster Master Co-Axial movement together.

Introduction to the OMEGA Master Co-Axial Movement

In 1999, OMEGA introduced the revolutionary Co-Axial escapement, embarking on the brand's journey of coaxial innovation. In 2007, OMEGA's first in-house coaxial movement—the 8500/8501 Co-Axial movement—was launched; in 2013, OMEGA released the first truly anti-magnetic mechanical movement.

It is these milestone innovations on OMEGA's coaxial journey that led to the creation of the most advanced mechanical movements in OMEGA's history: Master Co-Axial Calibres. This extraordinary new family includes the 8400/8401, 8500, 8511, and 8520 Master Co-Axial movements. Compared to previous coaxial movements, the greatest feature of these new movements is their ability to resist magnetic fields exceeding 15'000 gauss.

In 2013, OMEGA released its first truly anti-magnetic movement: the OMEGA 8508 Co-Axial movement. Over the past year, OMEGA has successfully achieved mass production of anti-magnetic technology, applying this innovative technology across various sizes and styles of watches. Unlike previous anti-magnetic methods in watchmaking, OMEGA does not rely on a soft-iron inner case, but instead takes a unique approach by selecting a variety of non-ferromagnetic materials to build the anti-magnetic movement, thereby fundamentally shielding the movement from magnetic fields.

The release of the silicon balance spring in 2008 Si14 was a crucial first step in the development of anti-magnetic movements. Today, the balance staff assembly in the newly upgraded movements uses an anti-magnetic material called Nivagauss™, the stainless steel in the coaxial escapement wheel is replaced by non-magnetic materials, and the shock absorber spring is also made of amorphous metal. This OMEGA-exclusive, world-first anti-magnetic technology will now be featured in the brand's most renowned watch collections.

In addition to its impressive anti-magnetic technology, the OMEGA Master Co-Axial movement is also equipped with an OMEGA free-sprung balance with a balance spring, a three-level coaxial escapement system, and special luxury finishing elements, including a rhodium-plated oscillating weight and balance bridge decorated with Geneva waves in arabesque.

OMEGA Seamaster Master Co-Axial Watch Recommendations

  1. OMEGA Seamaster 300 Watch – The Return of a Classic

In 1957, OMEGA introduced a pioneering watch specially designed for divers and underwater workers: the Seamaster 300 watch. A unidirectional rotating bezel, diving scale, contrasting black dial with light-coloured hour markers, and oversized hands and Arabic numerals—these exceptional design elements allow divers to easily read the time in all lighting conditions, whether on land or deep underwater.

More than half a century later, the Seamaster 300 watch makes a triumphant return. The 300 mm Seamaster 41 watch case is available in a variety of metal options, including stainless steel, 950 platinum, grade 5 titanium, and 18K Sedna™ gold. The two dual-material combinations of grade 5 titanium with 18K Sedna™ gold and stainless steel with 18K Sedna™ gold are uniquely striking, combining understated aesthetics with timeless appeal. Equipped with a polished black ceramic dial featuring Liquidmetal diving scales and transfer elements crafted from gold and palladium, along with a case and bracelet crafted from 18K Sedna™ gold, all these innovative elements lend this Seamaster 300 watch a smooth, tactile feel and a uniquely stunning visual effect.

  2. OMEGA 8400/8401 "Master Co-Axial Movement"

OMEGA has introduced two masterpieces from the newly upgraded coaxial movement family into the Seamaster 300 watch. The OMEGA 8400/8401 Master Co-Axial Calibre not only boasts the precision and reliability comparable to any previous coaxial movement, but also incorporates OMEGA's revolutionary anti-magnetic technology, bringing extraordinary performance to the Seamaster 300 watch—and indeed any timepiece equipped with a Master Co-Axial movement—capable of resisting magnetic fields exceeding 15'000 gauss (1.5 tesla). This officially certified chronometer is water-resistant to 300 metres (1000 feet / 30 bar).

The case back of each watch is engraved with "Si14" (silicon material) and "ANTI-MAGNETIC > 15’000 GAUSS" (anti-magnetic over 15’000 gauss). Furthermore, depending on the material used for the diving scale, they are also engraved with either "Liquidmetal" or "Omega CeragoldTM". Through the domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal case back, the precise movement of the Omega Co-Axial calibre is clearly visible. The stainless steel models, grade 5 titanium models, and two-tone models are all equipped with the 8400 Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement, while models crafted in 18K Sedna™ gold and 950 platinum are equipped with the specially luxury-finished 8401 Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement.

  3. OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m Master Co-Axial Watch

The 38.5 mm and 41.5 mm watch cases are available in three options: 18K red gold with stainless steel, 18K yellow gold with stainless steel, and an understated stainless steel model. The polished and brushed case is paired with a polished bezel and a matte screw-in crown.

The black, silver, blue, grey or champagne lacquered dials feature the Aqua Terra collection's signature teak concept vertical pattern. The hour markers are in rhodium-plated or 18K gold, while the matching domed central hour, minute and seconds hands are polished along the sides with a brushed finish on top, highlighting exquisite craftsmanship in the details. On the 41.5 mm models, the central seconds hand is either orange lacquered rhodium-plated or crafted from 18K gold. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides provides comprehensive protection for the dial of the Seamaster Aqua Terra Master Co-Axial watch.

This sporty watch features a polished and brushed bracelet with a butterfly clasp, with brown or blue leather strap options also available. The polished screw-in caseback is engraved with “Si14” (silicon) and “ANTI-MAGNETIC > 15’000 GAUSS” (anti-magnetic over 15’000 gauss). Through the sapphire crystal caseback, the beautiful operation of the OMEGA 8500 “Co-Axial Master Chronometer” movement is clearly visible.

  4. Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m Master Co-Axial 34 mm watch

This Master Co-Axial 34 mm watch is the smallest model in the new Seamaster Aqua Terra collection, with the case available in 18K Sedna gold and stainless steel, yellow gold and stainless steel, or streamlined solid stainless steel, paired with either a matching bracelet or a white mother-of-pearl gloss leather strap. On the white mother-of-pearl dial, 12 diamond hour markers are set in rhodium-plated or 18K gold domed chatons, radiating brilliant colour. The watch is fitted with a polished bezel featuring a matte screw-down crown or a fully diamond-paved bezel.

Having said that, I would like to recommend a popular Omega watch model; those interested can add me on WeChat for further enquiries.
