2015 At the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Asia,Paneraipresenting a Radiomir 1940 10 Days GMT Automatic Limited Edition watch. This timepiece integrates the Panerai P.2003/10 movement for the first time into the minimalist aesthetics of the Radiomir 1940. The movement features a date display, a GMT dual-time function, and a power reserve of up to 10 days, and makes its debut in an elegant skeletonised version. Let us take a look at the charm of this Panerai watch!

Designed, crafted, finely engraved, and decorated by Panerai's manufacture in Neuchâtel, the P.2003/10 movement is the first skeletonised automatic mechanical movement developed by Panerai, blending technology and art while balancing form and substance to set a standard of excellence. The intricate characteristics of the movement are showcased within a compact space measuring 13 ¾ lignes (1 mm) in diameter, equipped with three spring barrels to store up to 10 days of kinetic energy for the watch. The movement incorporates 25 jewels and a balance wheel vibrating at 28,800 times per hour (4 Hz).

The main functions of the watch include hours, minutes, small seconds, a date display, and a linear power reserve display located at the 6 o'clock position. A central hand indicates the time in the second time zone, paired with a day/night indicator set at the 9 o'clock position, making it convenient for travellers to read and keep track of time in two time zones. Finally, both limited-edition watches are equipped with two devices that make setting the time simpler and more precise, including a stop-balance and seconds-reset function driven by pulling the winding crown outwards, and a local time adjustment function that jumps forward and backward in one-hour increments. The latter does not obstruct the movement of the minute hand or the operation of the watch when adjusted, while simultaneously adjusting the date display accordingly.

The Radiomir 1940 case features clean, striking lines, showcasing the pure aesthetic of Italian design from the 1930 to the 40. The case has a diameter of 45 mm and is crafted from 5NPT red gold. The dial displays an elegant satin-finished sunburst pattern (satin é soleil) alongside impeccable aesthetic balance, ensuring all the functions of the watch are clearly legible. The dial adopts a classic sandwich structure, with luminescent material applied between two overlapping thin plates so that the light shines through the skeletonised hour markers of the top layer, making the markers clearly visible in dim environments.
