Its Radiomir 1940 case design is identical in shape to the transition period between the Radiomir and Luminor, and the diameter inherits the 47 mm specification of the first Panerai prototype from 1936. The Radiomir 1940 case uses stainless steel with an outer DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating for the first time, creating a matte black appearance. The black dial features a 'sandwich' construction with extremely clean lines. A small seconds sub-dial is positioned at nine o'clock, while a slow-speed torpedo relief is engraved at six o'clock, highlighting the history of the Italian Navy wearing Panerai instruments and watches during their heroic raids.
