     World-renowned watch brand Panerai launched a limited edition of 500 sets of Luminor 8-day power reserve paired watches during this year's Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva.       The design of the watch is inspired by "pre-Vendôme era" models. The so-called "pre-Vendôme era" refers to the period from 1993, when the brand first launched a watch collection for the civilian market, to the time the brand was acquired by the Vendôme Group, a subsidiary of the Richemont Group, in 1997. During these few years, Panerai produced very few watches, yet they quickly became treasures highly sought after by collectors on the market. Among these masterpieces, the watch collection specially commissioned from Panerai by American actor Sylvester Stallone in 1996 is the most talked about. This brand-new Luminor 8-day power reserve pair is a selection of the two original watches Panerai specially made for Stallone at the time — the Luminor Black Seal watch and the Luminor Daylight watch.

      The Luminor Daylight8Days watch is a replica of the 1996 model, of which only a few original pieces were produced, making them extremely rare. The most distinctive feature of this historical model is its white dial —: while it retains the white dial of the original Daylight model, the hour markers and hands are rendered in a striking blue, and this new replica faithfully recreates these unique details.

      The prototype of this watch is now a rarity, and this new release has been completely redesigned with blue hands, including the small seconds sub-dial at the 9 o'clock position and large hour markers. The case diameter is 44 millimetres, and the crown protection bridge is traditionally positioned on the right side, crafted from polished AISI 316L stainless steel just like the case. The strap is crafted from blue alligator leather, echoing the dial colour and fitted with a steel pin buckle sewn onto it, just like the vintage original.

       Inside the watch beats a P.5000 manual-winding mechanical movement featuring two coupled spring barrels, offering a power reserve of up to 8 days. Manufactured entirely by the Panerai manufacture in Neuchâtel (â), the movement retains several "historical" characteristics of the period's watch movements, including manual winding and a long power reserve, continuing pure Panerai style while elevating quality to contemporary haute horlogerie standards. The movement has a robust structure, featuring a large bridge that protects the internal gear train operation, and a balance wheel secured by a twin-arm bridge.
