They say ETA movements are great, but even ETA movements have different grades
Although they are all ETA movements, different grades still exist between them. The ETA movement manufacturer divides its own movements into four grades:

Standard, Elaboré, Top, and Chronometer. These four grades of ETA movements use the same mechanical structure and may look identical on the outside, but there are differences in material selection, manufacturing quality, and the finish of the components. This ultimately results in different standards for timekeeping accuracy.
Standard grade:
Mainspring: Nivaflex NO material
Balance spring: Nivarox 2 material
Shock absorber: Etachocs
Adjusted positions: Two positions
Tolerance: ±12 seconds
Positional variation: ±30 seconds
Isochronism: ±20 seconds
Elaboré grade:
Mainspring: Nivaflex NO material
Balance spring: Nivarox 2 material
Shock absorber: Etachocs
Adjusted positions: Three positions
Tolerance: ±7 seconds
Positional variation: ±20 seconds
Isochronism: ±15 seconds
Top grade:
Mainspring: Nivaflex NM material
Balance spring: Anachron material
Shock absorber: Incabloc
Adjusted positions: Five positions
Tolerance: -4/+10 seconds
Positional variation: ±15 seconds
isochronism ±10 seconds

ETA movements of different grades differ in materials and workmanship, so naturally their prices vary too. Furthermore, for luxury watches, the product added value is very high. For every 10% increase in cost, the retail price may increase by 20%.30%, or even more. This is why watches that seemingly use the exact same exterior and movement can have vastly different price tags.

In addition, many watch enthusiasts also mention that buying a domestic Seagull replica movement for just 2000 poundsReplica watches, in actual wear, only has a daily error of 1 or 2 seconds, so why still buy an ETA movement? The primary reason is that the manufacturing precision and materials used differ between the two, with the biggest difference lying in stability. To use an imperfect analogy, a Seagull movement and an ETA movement are two different buildings; under normal conditions, no difference can be seen between them. However, in the event of an earthquake, the Seagull can only withstand up to level 6, whereas the ETA can withstand level 7 without sustaining damage. Of course, once a certain intensity is reached, both movements will fail.
