Do you really understand the 'crown' of a Rolex watch?
It is worth noting that those who wear a crown possess a regal stature. Beyond the status of kings and queens, there is another object that has worn a 'crown' since its inception, and that isRolex watches. You might refer to this knob used for adjustment and winding as a 'winder', but it actually has a more commanding name: the crown.

The term 'crown' is a direct translation of the English word. But why would the knob on the side of a watch be associated with a crown? This dates back to the era when pocket watches were popular, where the winding mechanism was placed at the 12 o'clock position, featuring decorative fluting that made it look as though it were wearing a crown. However, the advent of the wristwatch changed this design; for the convenience of attaching straps and adjusting the time, the crown was moved to the side of the dial. The vast majority of Rolex watch crowns are located at the three o'clock position.
Ingenuity is revealed in the microscopic world; Rolex watches have always insisted on integrating perfection into the functional design of the crown.

Currently, all Rolex watches feature a screw-down crown. This design provides excellent water resistance, offering infinite possibilities for deep-sea diving. When wearing the watch, you must unscrew the crown anti-clockwise before manually winding or adjusting the time, and after use, you must press it in while screwing it clockwise to tighten. It is particularly important to note that if you use excessive force when replacing the screw-down crown and fail to follow the internal thread track, or if you do not tighten the crown after cleaning the watch, it will compromise the watch's water resistance and airtightness. The correct method is to press and tighten only after you feel the crown has engaged with the thread track.
