Some thoughts on the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona series 116520
As I benefited immensely from reading reviews and posts by many senior members in the forum previously, I also wanted to do my part in contributing to this vibrant 5N watch forum. Please forgive any shortcomings in my writing and my iPhone-quality photos.
Ever since I started working, I have been inseparable from watches. When friends around me discuss the practicality of watches, I often link watches to the meaning of life, and sometimes I even wonder why I shouldn't become a watch salesperson. In the dead of night, when I let my mind wander, blankly watching the seconds hand tick away bit by bit and listening to the sound of the movement, it reminds me not to waste time; once time passes, it is gone forever.
Speaking of why I wanted to get a Daytona, to be honest, when I saw this watch a few years ago, my heart was against it. It is small with a complex dial, completely out of sync with the currently popular large dials, and even its stablemate the Submariner looked more masculine. But time really changes a lot; as I age, my aesthetic tastes gradually change, and I find that this sports watch can actually be worn with a touch of elegance, giving me at least a sort of elegant self-confidence. Hearing this, will everyone laugh at my budget-conscious mindset? Hehe, it doesn't matter...
From falling in love with this watch to acquiring it was only about a few weeks. I even posted a thread earlier asking everyone whether I should buy a domestic market model. Once I actually got hold of it and savoured the craftsmanship and various details of this timepiece, including how it feels on the wrist, it was indeed just as many reviews had previously stated: exquisite, comfortable on the wrist, and so on. But the biggest feeling it gave me was that when it sits on my wrist, it serves more as a reminder that I am approaching 30 years old, and I must be more steady, work harder, and take on more responsibility!
I have to mention the channel through which I acquired it; I still chose the domestic market version. For two reasons: first, a steel Daytona abroad is nearly impossible to find; second, the price is under 750k, so why not?
The last few pictures show another watch that I really love. I used to watch adults wear Longines when I was a child, and I grew to like the brand because I thought the winged Longines logo looked very cool. I'll leave you guessing—does anyone know the name of this timepiece?
