IWC万国表创立于1868年，制表已有137年历史。IWC的创办人是美国波士顿工程师佛罗伦汀·琼斯(Florentine A.Jones)，他在莱茵河畔的厂房中创立了瑞士最早期的机械制表工厂，实现了他的新颖构想——以机械取代部分人工制造出更精确的零件，而后由一流的表师装配成品质超凡的表。万国表素有"高档钟表工程师"之称，专门制造男装腕表。经典的款式加上巧妙的设计，典雅而精致，操作极其简便――这就是闻名遐迩的万国表。

葡萄牙系列

追溯至十五及十六世纪时期，葡萄牙在探索海洋方面远远超越了其他大国，因而被雀为当时最出色的航海专家;他们不但发现新的航海路线和陆地，其后更促使瑞士制表业发扬光大，即使其时已是二十世纪的一九三六年。当时两位葡萄牙商人罗德格斯(Rodrigues)和特谢拉(Teixeira)造访沙夫豪森，向万国表(IWC)订制一款如同天文台表一样准确的不锈钢腕表，葡萄牙 Portuguese系列腕表因而诞生。凭着它极高的精准度和令人赞叹的优美外型，迅即成为当时表坛的传奇。
