Zenith Captain Winsor Chronograph watch recommendation

ZenithPublished
The excellence of the Captain Winsor Chronograph lies in its extraordinary complications. The birth of this outstanding design is credited to the Musée International d’Horlogerie de la Chaux-de-fonds. The talented museum curator Ludwig Oechslin designed an ingenious annual calendar complication that not only displays the day, date, and month but only requires adjustment once a year. For many chronograph collectors, the annual calendar complication is more approachable than a perpetual calendar. The dial layout is clear and legible, ingeniously displaying time with three concentric discs: the outer disc displays the date, the middle disc the month, and the inner disc the day. This mechanism is simple and elegant in appearance, yet complex and sophisticated in operation. In months with 31 days, the date disc pushes the month disc forward; in months with 30 days, the month disc skips the number 31. Manual adjustment is only required at the transition between February and March. The watch is novel in concept and subtle in design; most annual calendar complications consist of 30 or 40 moving parts, whereas this piece has only 9 moving parts.

Zenith Captain Winsor Chronograph watch introduction

'The watch is novel in concept and subtle in design, with only 9 moving parts' is the result of a collaboration between the International Watch Museum and Zenith. The Captain Winsor Chronograph perfectly integrates the Zenith Captain chronograph with the annual calendar complication, a culmination of the partnership between the Zenith manufacture and the International Watch Museum. To this end, the International Watch Museum will host two permanent exhibitions related to hours and seconds.

This chronograph is equipped with the highly precise El Primero movement, fully embodying the exquisite watchmaking skills of the Zenith manufacture. For over 40 years, the El Primero movement has been developed and manufactured within the Zenith manufacture and is the world's only mass-produced movement with a frequency of 36, 000 vibrations per hour. In other words, the El Primero movement vibrates 10 times per second; only outstanding timepieces can be equipped with this superior automatic movement. For this reason, the Zenith manufacture reserves it for timepieces produced by the brand. The Captain Winsor Chronograph is equipped with the El Primero 4054 automatic movement, entirely manufactured in-house, decorated with Côtes de Genève and perlage, and visible through the sapphire crystal case back.

Reading this, I recommend a popular best-selling Zenith watch to everyone. Please add WeChat for further inquiries.

真力时指挥官温莎(Winsor)计时腕表推荐

  Review:

◆ The watch features uniquely styled Arabic numeral hour markers on its black dial; the dial design is minimalist and offers clear legibility.

◆ Zenith watches boast a bold and rugged style, featuring a perfectly round case crafted from stainless steel, housing an automatic mechanical movement within.

◆ The watch is paired with a dark brown Nubuck vintage suede strap, offering a classic, elegant look and comfortable wear.

◆ The large 46 mm case diameter, the oversized onion crown, and the highly retro-fashionable distressed calfskin strap all endow it with the elements of a high-end pilot's watch.

  Introduction to the Zenith Brand

Zenith was born in Switzerland in 1865, founded by Georges Favre-Jacot. Since its inception, Zenith has consistently adhered to its core principle: blending the precision of mechanical timepieces with aesthetic sensibility through bold creativity, never changing.

In the early 1930s, the decline of pocket watches fueled the rise of wristwatches. Zenith simultaneously developed a new watch style: the sports watch. With war looming, the watch factory's production speed had to be faster, prices reasonable, and products precise yet unpretentious to meet the needs of the military. Therefore, precision timepieces originally designed for the navy continued the trend towards thinness and compactness, offering stronger performance and adopting aviation industry technology in an attempt to break various records in durability, distance, or speed.

Aside from the navy, Zenith also developed dashboard aviation instruments for the French Air Force, becoming part of their equipment during the World War in 1940, and producing complex timers equipped with a fly-back function that could be fitted into bombs. Additionally, Zenith supplied some watches to the Italian

Royal Navy. After the end of the World War, timepieces capable of measuring time accurately quickly became a craze among the general public. The early 1950s can be regarded as the first golden age of watchmaking, during which people valued not only styling but also the handcrafted quality of hand-wound mechanical watches.

In the year 1962, Zenith decided to design a chronograph movement to commemorate the factory's 100th anniversary; this product ultimately influenced the entire Swiss watchmaking industry. After five years of research and development, Zenith created the world's first in 1969

automatic chronograph movement with a high frequency of 36000 vibrations, achieving a timing precision of 1/10 of a second. Zenith named this movement El Primero, which means "first" in Spanish.

The 1970s can be said to be a revolutionary new era for the watchmaking industry and watch market. Due to the popularity of quartz watches, many watch factories disappeared or merged with parent companies in North America or Japan. Zenith did not escape this fate either, being acquired in 1972 by the US-led colour television

manufacturer Zenith Radio Chicago. Three years later, the production of Zenith mechanical movements was suspended, while tools and machinery parts were preserved.

In 1978 7, Zenith was bought once again by Swiss industrialist Paul Castella, and the company was renamed Zenith Movado Le Locle Ltd. At that time, quartz watches were still in their heyday, but discerning watchmakers could already foresee that the traditional watchmaking industry would make a comeback. Subsequently, the "vintage trend" in the watch industry grew increasingly fervent, and Zenith began receiving more and more orders for automatic movements. The company finally resumed movement production in 1984, insisting on using traditional tools for manufacturing. Since 130, Zenith has consistently adhered to producing high-precision, high-performance practical watches, firmly believing that strictly executing every single production step is the only way to create superior products; consequently, every Zenith watch holds a COSC chronometer certification.

From 1903 onwards, Zenith watch collections have been regular winners of official observatory precision prizes, as well as the watchmaker in Swiss watch history that has received the most observatory precision awards, virtually becoming a synonym for precision.

Zenith is the inventor of the high-frequency automatic chronograph and has to date won 1, 565 Swiss chronometry awards, 1, 425 independent timing awards, and enjoys the reputation of a true watchmaking expert.

The El Primero chronograph movement, born in 1969, is arguably the world's most precise and highest-frequency automatic chronograph movement, beating at 36, 000 vibrations per hour, measuring time to within 1/10 of a second, with a power reserve exceeding 50 hours.

176 patents, 180 classic movement types, and from this, 500 movement variations have been developed.

Summary: Zenith watches combine peerless precision with unique design, creating exemplary pieces that embody the highest realms of haute horlogerie. The Zenith watch recommended here features exquisite workmanship and guaranteed quality. Friends wishing to purchase are welcome to add WeChat for consultations.
