　　Half a century has passed since the prototype of the ETA2824-2 was released, and the variety of movements derived from Eterna and ETA is too numerous to list. While there are slight differences in appearance, frequency, and balance wheel types, the transmission gear train and bidirectional winding system have not undergone major changes. In the 80s, the re-produced ETA2824-2 series featured many variations. Among them, the ETA2801-2 and ETA2804-2 (with date) are manual-winding versions with the bidirectional automatic winding structure removed, yet they retain the other functions of the ETA2824-2. The diameter remains the same, but the thickness is reduced to 3.35mm. However, the aesthetics are not particularly appealing, and the finishing and parts quality are of a lower grade. Since there is still the ETA7001 to choose from, this movement is not common. The most common version is the ETA2836-2, which includes a day-date function; its thickness increases to 5.05mm. This likely meets the needs of most people and can be found in entry-level models from Oris, Tissot, and Mido. Other derivative models include those with added chronograph or world-time modules, though these are less frequently seen.

　　The ETA 2824-2 'red' movement generally referred to in the market is a base movement without modification, featuring the colour of a copper alloy rather than rose gold. The cost is around two thousand yuan. However, with nickel and rhodium plating, various wave-pattern finishes, and the installation of higher-grade hairsprings and balance wheel assemblies, the appearance becomes very striking, and it can easily pass chronometer testing standards. From the earliest original models to the current ETA2824-2, the appearance has changed slightly. Based on the store manager's experience, the winding efficiency is excellent; as long as there is sufficient physical activity, the mainspring barrel remains near full wind. The most obvious advantage is that the accuracy is very stable, and errors in various positions can be minimised.

　　Players in other countries also believe that the highest grade of ETA2824-2 is comparable to the ETA2892-A2 in all aspects, which shows that the performance of the ETA2824-2 is quite good.
