Why must you replace quartz watch batteries in a timely manner?
Many people chooseQuartz watchesbecause they are easy to maintain, can be worn without many worries, and more importantly, they are inexpensive. Compared to mechanical and digital watches, quartz watches save a lot of trouble, but you also need to pay attention to the battery life cycle. The principle of a quartz watch is that the quartz crystal is affected by battery power, using a crystal that continuously " oscillates " periodically to generate regular vibrations for timekeeping. A fully charged battery supply can ensure the normal operation of the quartz watch. This is the same problem encountered by small electrical appliances that also use batteries; a dead battery left for a long time will damage the internal components of the quartz movement. However, there are always some careless friends who simply throw their quartz watch into a drawer and ignore it when it starts keeping time inaccurately or stops running, only to find it is too late when they remember to check it.

The following signs may indicate an insufficient watch battery supply:
The seconds hand jumps several seconds at a time
The watch runs and stops intermittently
The seconds hand jumps forward and then takes a step back
Watch timekeeping.
When the battery is running low, a quartz watch will not slow down because its speed depends on the frequency of the crystal oscillator, and the supply voltage has very little effect on the oscillation frequency.
Another situation is when you want to stop wearing a quartz watch and leave it aside for a period, thinking that making the quartz watch stop will save power, so you pull out the crown to stop the watch. However, while the watch face has stopped, the battery is still discharging. Much like remote controls or electronic toys that have some standby current even when turned off, items like shavers and radios also have a certain amount of leakage current. If the leakage current is too high, it will quickly drain the battery, and dampness or battery leakage will cause fatal damage to the watch movement.
To prevent your cherished watch from meeting a disastrous end, we usually need to pay more attention to the timekeeping of quartz watches. High-end quartz watches from major brands generally include information such as a suggested timeframe for the next replacement when purchased, and most standard quartz watches also feature a low battery warning function. When the battery capacity is nearly exhausted and the voltage begins to drop, the seconds hand will pause for three to four seconds and then jump three to four seconds' worth of markers; digital displays with crystal screens will become unclear or fail to display entirely.
Avoid trying to extend battery life by squeezing it. The lifespan of a quartz watch battery is typically around 2 years. We also remind everyone not to be tempted by cheap prices to replace it with unguarded, low-cost movements, and you must always replace it with the correct battery model as specified.
