Analysis of Common Faults in Replica Watch Clasps
Replica watchesMetal bracelet clasps are prone to issues after frequent opening and closing. There are many types of metal clasp structures, such as double-fold, single-fold, push-button, and butterfly clasps. Most use elastic friction to close, with the most common being the single-fold zigzag clasp, which is opened with a thumbnail and closed by pushing firmly. During daily use, the clasp should open and close smoothly, with moderate resistance. Common issues include a loose clasp that opens on its own or one that fails to close. These problems are related to the following factors:

(1) Poor quality of the clasp material, thin thickness, low strength, and susceptibility to deformation;
(2) Improper opening and closing techniques, such as pulling or yanking, causing deformation;
(3) Incorrect repair or adjustment of the clasp.

The clasp assembly of a metal bracelet consists mainly of inner and outer plates and a cover. When a clasp is loose and prone to opening, it is usually due to the deformation of the zigzag components. Deformation occurs when the arcs of the two folding metal parts no longer align, preventing them from forming a single curved surface when closed, resulting in bulges or gaps. Many mistakenly believe it is an issue with elastic friction and try to bend the small tab, but the friction depth is actually related to the arc of the zigzag plates. Changing the arc alters the closing force and tension. Avoid bending the small tab, as it can easily snap, rendering the bracelet useless.

The primary cause of clasp deformation is improper use. I often see people closing their bracelets by slapping them with their palm or pressing with their thumb, which is incorrect. Over time, this deforms the curved surface. I recommend using your thumb and index finger to pinch the clasp shut, and when opening, use your thumbnail to apply force perpendicular to the clasp (excluding locking clasps). A loose clasp can cause the watch to fall off, affecting security, so check it regularly. If it is too loose, have it adjusted by a professional at a watch shop rather than attempting it yourself.
Metal bracelets come in solid and hollow versions. Higher-end watches use solid links, while hollow ones are more prone to deformation. However, the pins or screws connecting the links in solid bracelets can work loose, so these should also be checked regularly.
