Never before has there been such a piece on the wrist
A mysterious azure fantasy
It was crafted by Blancpain's master watchmakers
Using two ceramic techniques to create a harmonious composition
This is yet another movement in Blancpain's symphony of watchmaking artistry

The Blancpain Blue, limited to 250 pieces worldwide, continues to support ocean conservation
On 2016 11 11, another masterpiece of the Blancpain Ocean Commitment global charity initiative—the Bathyscaphe Flyback Chronograph Ocean Commitment 2016 new limited edition—was grandly unveiled at the Shanghai Xintiandi flagship store. As the first limited-edition watch to feature a unique and rare full blue ceramic case, only 250 pieces are available worldwide.
Blancpain pledges that for every watch sold, it will continue to donate 1,000 Euros to support the development of marine research projects. This follows the second donation of 25 hundred thousand Euros after the 2014 Ocean Commitment limited edition, representing Blancpain's ongoing contribution to ocean conservation and a gesture of love from you to the ocean that nurtures life.

The unique and rare Blancpain Blue on the wrist
Quality that can be passed down through generations and rarity that signifies prestige; yet what is most captivating is its delicate, full-bodied blue, presenting the deep and enchanting blue of the ocean world—intense and mysterious, as beautiful as an azure fantasy on the wrist. This is the unique and rare Blancpain Blue.
Creating the enchanting, full-bodied Blancpain Blue seems simple, but is in fact incredibly difficult. In the watchmaking world, it was considered a pipe dream. Typically, ceramic watches use the material only in specific parts, such as the bezel or the case. No other watch brand had managed to make the crown and chronograph pushers the same shade of blue as the case, but Blancpain has achieved it.

Two extraordinary techniques for the Blancpain Blue
After years of experimentation, Blancpain's master watchmakers used two different ceramic manufacturing processes to finally achieve the difficult task of matching the blue of the crown and chronograph pushers to that of the case. It can be said that in the watchmaking industry, Blancpain has redefined the 'blue of the watch'.
The first technique involves pressing ceramic powder to complete the shaping and colouring, primarily used for the production of the case, bezel, and case back.
The second technique uses an injection moulding process to embed ceramic particles into a mould to create the crown and chronograph pushers, which are then fired to achieve a blue that is perfectly consistent with the case, case back, and bezel. This ensures the blue remains uniform and stable. Even more commendable is that the Blancpain Blue is solid ceramic through and through, rather than simply using a coating to achieve the full-body blue, a true industry first.

It is intense and mysterious, presenting the depth of the ocean world, silently resonating with the 'Ocean Commitment' theme. This precious blue is the exclusive 'Blancpain Blue'.
High-craftsmanship movement
This new limited-edition watch is equipped with the F385 movement, featuring an integrated column-wheel chronograph mechanism with a high frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz), allowing for timing precision to one-tenth of a second. The movement is also fitted with an anti-magnetic silicon balance spring, providing the owner with peace of mind against magnetic interference.

It features a flyback chronograph function. Standard chronographs require three operations to restart timing (stop, reset, and restart), whereas the flyback function significantly reduces the number of steps and wear on the movement; simply pressing the button at the four o'clock position allows for an instantaneous reset and restart.
The case back features a sapphire crystal exhibition window, showcasing a specially crafted 18K gold oscillating weight engraved with the 'Ocean Commitment' logo, commemorating your contribution to the Blancpain Ocean Commitment initiative.

Become a member of the "Blancpain Ocean Commitment Circle"
Every owner of an "Ocean Commitment" limited edition watch will receive a copy of "Hans Hass, Awakening to a New World", whilst also becoming a member of the "Blancpain Ocean Commitment Circle" and receiving a certificate of donation, thanking the purchaser for their strong support of Blancpain's ocean charity initiatives and related projects.
