TAG Heuer makes another move, landing with glory along with the Carrera Heuer-02T

This automatic chronograph is certified by the COSC Official Swiss Chronograph Testing Institute and is equipped with a flying tourbillon made of titanium and carbon fibre materials.

　　The TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-02T is an accessible yet luxurious piece among TAG Heuer's extensive collection. With an attractive price point, this new release is setting a new trend in haute horlogerie. Cutting-edge technology, exemplary quality, outstanding performance, exquisite manufacturing techniques, and perfect control over industrial processes and production costs allow this watch to stand out from the crowd. The Carrera Heuer-02T is the only COSC-certified automatic winding tourbillon chronograph in the 15,000 CHF price bracket. The Phantom Black edition is priced at 19,900 CHF and is a limited edition of 250 pieces, with each piece individually numbered.

　　Inspired by the Carrera CH-80 chronograph, the TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-02T perfectly blends the two most renowned complications in traditional watchmaking: TAG Heuer's proudest chronograph mechanism alongside a visually striking tourbillon.

　　How to house a single mainspring barrel, multiple chronograph functions, an automatic winding mechanism, and a flying tourbillon within a case measuring just 32 mm in diameter at a frequency of 4 Hz and 28,800 vibrations per hour—while ensuring a rational layout for each sub-dial to give the watch a stylish and balanced aesthetic—became the manufacturing challenge of this timepiece.

　　To solve this technical challenge, TAG Heuer specially developed a new industrial framework to optimise the watch assembly process at its Chevenez facility. Its lightweight tourbillon is hand-crafted by 4 master watchmakers using exquisite skills, drawing inspiration from the Monaco V4 watch, featuring a titanium centre and a carbon top, providing the watch with a power reserve of over 65 hours.

　　All installation, assembly, and adjustment work is carried out by hand. The main components are manufactured at the TAG Heuer factory, whilst the core tourbillon component—the balance spring—is produced by the brand's Swiss partner, Atokalpa.

　　Before leaving the factory, each watch must undergo 21 days of rigorous testing. Furthermore, all movements are certified by the independent testing body COSC (Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute), ensuring that this watch achieves the highest standards of precision when worn.

　　The new case houses an extraordinary movement. Made from grade 5 titanium, it is lightweight with enhanced shock resistance, whilst adopting an unusual structure comprising a total of 12 modular components. This design significantly broadens the combinatorial possibilities, enabling infinite combinations of materials, colours, surface finishes, and polishing. The black alligator leather strap lined with natural rubber perfectly showcases TAG Heuer's sophisticated yet dynamic signature look. Water-resistant up to 100 metres.
