Enduring belief and craftsmanship passed down --- New Year reflections from the Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Maison in the Vallée de Joux
As the year draws to a close, the perpetual calendar aperture on the watch quietly awaits turning to 2017. As 2016 comes to an end, time has passed as evenly as ever, and we are grateful to have met you and witnessed together the turning of time into the next year.

Long ago, Jaeger-LeCoultre was founded in the Vallée de Joux, Switzerland. Much like that tranquil valley, the watchmakers, imbued with a magnanimity and serenity cultivated over vast expanses of time, embarked on an adventure into a miniature world.
No one can stand alone, so 180 crafts have all come together under one roof. 1249 in-house movements and 413 registered patents make this battlefield within a square inch shine through endurance across the river of time.

Driven by gear trains for precise timekeeping, the watch takes on a life of its own through the warmth of a wrist. The artisan's craftsmanship has been passed down for 183 years.

88 years ago, a clock that runs continuously relying solely on changes in room temperature rivalled perpetual motion. The total energy consumption of 6 million Atmos clocks is less than that required to power a single 15-watt light bulb. In today's climate-conscious era, it exists in quiet harmony.

87 years ago, after the world's smallest mechanical movement 101 was created at Jaeger-LeCoultre, this record has still not been broken to this day.

85 years ago, the legendary Reverso was born out of polo, and after weathering the years, it remains a classic.

Guilloché work is presented in a brand new way in the Jaeger-LeCoultre Rare Handcrafts workshop, running parallel to the brand's traditional techniques. Its operation may look simple, but it can only be mastered by highly experienced master artisans.

Jaeger-LeCoultre watchesPersonalised engraving decoration is available; this purely manual skill includes line engraving, jeweller's engraving, lacquer engraving, and relief carving.

Enamelling is a true art form. Fired in a kiln, enamel achieves a unique sense of depth that remains unchanged throughout the passage of time. Jaeger-LeCoultre excels particularly in the meticulous and noble grand feu enamelling technique.

As a pioneer in haute horlogerie, Jaeger-LeCoultre meticulously crafts many magnificent pieces using unique and exquisite setting techniques. Born under the skilled hands of expert artists, they embody the perfect union of beauty and precision.

As a timekeeping instrument, a watch may perhaps be an item of consumer upgrading. However, when every piece leaves the Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Maison, we say to it, "have a wonderful life." Regardless of the seasons or distant lands, it is imbued with life upon your wrist, embarking with you on an adventure of its own.
All things possess a spirit, stemming from the steadfast hearts of those time artisans in the Vallée de Joux. The pursuit of near-ultimate craftsmanship, adherence to tradition, and the belief in constant innovation are the forces that sustain Jaeger-LeCoultre through time.
