The casting results are confirmed for quality via electron microscope scanning. Finally, only strictly selected cast products are used for watch manufacturing. In order to process904Lsteel, Rolex replaced most of its previously used metal processing equipment and tools. This was possible because Rolex has sufficient production volume and they produce all their own components in-house, whereas most brands purchase parts from external suppliers. Therefore, although904Lsteel performance is superior to316Lsteel, due to higher costs, the requirement for special equipment and technology for processing, and greater difficulty in handling, no other brands choose to use this steel.
