The Longines 1918 Heritage Watch pays tribute to the golden era of Longines in the 1910s
The 1910s can be considered a golden period of rapid technological advancement in Longines watchmaking, as well as an important era that established Longines' leading position in movement and horological research and development. From inventing the first mechanical sports timing instrument known as the wire-break system in 1911, used for the first time at the Swiss Federal Gymnastics Meet, to launching the first wearable single-push-piece chronograph in 1913 powered by the in-house L13.33Z movement with column-wheel clutch technology—far ahead of other watch brands—Longines went on to create a series of uniquely shaped miniature movements for ladies' watches in 1916, sparking a trend in ladies' jewellery watches and establishing Longines as an industry leader in jewellery timepieces; from 1919 onwards, Longines became an official supplier to the International Aeronautical Federation (FAI), providing timing instruments for pilots and witnessing numerous world aviation records.

A collector's piece from the Longines Heritage collection: a new expression of classical elegance combining traditional watchmaking craftsmanship with Art Deco details
In celebration of its long watchmaking tradition, Longines delights in releasing re-edition timepieces that revisit iconic creations that brought fame to the Swiss brand. The Longines 1918 Heritage watch draws inspiration from the rich and glorious history of Longines in the 1910s, echoing the very first chronograph built by Longines. The Longines 1918 Heritage watch faithfully interprets its original model, using honey tones as the central design element throughout the timepiece. The refined decorative details perfectly recreate the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles of the late 1910s: a rounded, substantial dial inherits the pocket watch designs of that period, paired with meticulously crafted, clean, and elegant curved welded lugs, a flat onion crown, and cathedral hands, fully showcasing the iconic classical elements of the era; the case back is engraved with the script logo designed by Longines in the 1920s, harmonising with the heritage re-edition model, with exquisite attention to detail reflecting Longines' century-spanning craft aesthetics.
On the white lacquered dial, cathedral hands combining blued steel with a honey-coloured raised coating, together with the blued steel seconds hand on the small seconds sub-dial at 6 o'clock, provide a finishing touch to the overall re-edition timepiece, displaying a captivating vintage charm distinct from the original model. Large painted Arabic numeral hour markers in honey tones with a strong classical feel create a dimensional layered texture on the dial for a striking visual effect, balanced perfectly by the black railway track track; this provides perfect balance for a timepiece representative of the early 20th century. A honey-coloured alligator strap featuring cream stitching details harmoniously echoes the main dial colour, perfecting the overall design. The Longines 1918 Heritage watch seems to transport you to the palace of Art Deco, allowing you to savour the exquisite charm of that golden age.
The Longines 1918 Heritage watch is available in both men's and women's models, offered in case diameters of 38.5 mm or 41 mm. This watch is fitted with the L615 automatic mechanical movement. In addition to stainless steel cases, the ladies' model also offers a 38.5 mm version set with brilliant top-quality diamonds, paired with a slender honey alligator strap; its delicate, graceful contours highlight a particularly charming feminine poise, adding elegant, noble softness to everyday attire.
