IWC, known for making watches solely for men, has now launched ladies' watches

　　IWC's motto has always been: Engineered exclusively for men. Indeed, over the years, IWC has attracted countless men to wearIWC Pilot's Watch, Portugieser and Portofino models. However, with changing times and developments, IWC has also begun to venture into ladies' watches.

　　Last year, IWC released a "ladies' watch". Of course, IWC did not explicitly call it a ladies' watch, referring to it instead as the 37 watch. Nevertheless, this 37 watch was targeted at women and sold remarkably well.

　　Then early this year, at SIHH, they introduced the smallest Pilot's watch, which is clearly designed for women: the "Pilot's Watch Automatic 36"—its dimensions are 1mm smaller than the "37" watch! It is evident to everyone that they ambition to capture a slice of the ladies' watch market. Yet IWC still refrained from explicitly calling it a ladies' watch, describing it instead as meeting the needs of both gentlemen with slender wrists and ladies...

　　This time, however, IWC has genuinely launched ladies' watches! IWC has finally announced officially: "Specially designed for women, the Da Vinci Automatic 36 and the Da Vinci Automatic Moon Phase 36." You do not need to worry about what Da Vinci is for now. All you need to know is that it now represents IWC's dedicated ladies' line. Women who love it can simply go ahead and purchase one. However, you will have to wait until 2017 when this model is launched in SIHH2017.

　　IWCChief Executive Officer Georges Kern stated: "With the launch of the Da Vinci Automatic 36 and the Da Vinci Automatic Moon Phase 36, we return to our tradition of creating classic timepieces specifically for women within the Da Vinci family, adorned with diamonds or stylish straps. I am particularly proud of the launch of the Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph and the Da Vinci Tourbillon Retrograde Chronograph, which once again demonstrate the brand's supreme watchmaking expertise."
