Cartier unveils 3 Pre-SIHH 2017 novelties

　　With only a few weeks left until 2017SIHH, it is expected that we will be flooded with countless Pre-SIHH 2017 novelties in the coming time. Recently,Cartier watchhas also released 3 teaser novelties: the Mysterious Double Tourbillon Minute Repeater, the Skeleton Mysterious Hour, and the Panthère High Jewellery watch.

　　The most complex of the 3 novelties, the Mysterious Double Tourbillon Minute Repeater, features both the 'Mysterious Double Tourbillon' and 'Minute Repeater' complications for the first time. The 'Mysterious Double Tourbillon' is positioned at 10 o'clock, operating on a principle similar to the 'Mysterious Hour'—the double tourbillon cage is fixed between two sapphire crystals, creating the visual effect of it floating. The minute repeater hammers are visible at the 6 o'clock position on the dial. It is powered by the manual-winding Caliber 9407 MC movement, consisting of 448 components, with a 3.5-day power reserve. Case dimensions: 45mm×11.15mm. Available in titanium, platinum with diamond-set case, and platinum with diamond-set dial and bezel versions, limited to 50, 30, and 20 pieces respectively.

　　Another piece, the Skeleton Mysterious Hour watch, applies the classic skeletonised Roman numeral dial design to the Mysterious Hour collection. Palladium case, dimensions 42mm×11.9mm, housing the manual-winding Caliber 9983 MC movement.

　　The third piece, the Panthère jewellery watch, abandons traditional hands; the large circular diamond on the dial serves as the hour hand, while the minute hand is the extended paw of the panther. The dial's spotted pattern is crafted from black onyx, with emeralds for the panther's eyes. White gold diamond-set case, dimensions 40mm×12.05mm, powered by the automatic Caliber 9918 MC movement with a 48-hour power reserve.

　　I have seen too many combinations of mysterious hour, skeleton, and tourbillon displays; they appear every year, and I can hardly keep track of them. The Panthère collection, however, brings surprises every year! Last year's 'Panthère et Colibri' on-demand power reserve watch and the granulated enamel Panthère watch were both impressive, so it is no wonder that these 3 novelties have been released.
