Since Chanel launched its first watch, the Première, in 1987, it has established its own world of watchmaking.

In 2000, the first Chanel J12 was released. It is a sports watch and also the first unisex collection. Since then, different J12 have appeared almost every year, including chronographs and tachymeter men's watches. Since the establishment of the watch studio in 1987, all Chanel watches have been designed by artistic director Jacques Helleu and manufactured at the Chanel watch factory in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.
